SUSTAINABILITY & COMMUNITY
We believe children are never too young to learn how to care for the world around them. We embed sustainable practices into our daily routines and curriculum, giving children the skills and habits that will help protect the planet for generations to come.
Learning Through Nature
Our unique location, within the Royal National Park, gives children daily opportunities to explore and connect with the natural world. Through bushwalks, outdoor play and hands-on discovery, children develop respect and curiosity for plants, animals and the land.
Community Connections
We build strong links with our community by working alongside local initiatives, schools and families. These partnerships allow children to experience real-world sustainability projects, from caring for the bush to learning about local wildlife and ecosystems.

Everyday Sustainable Practices
Sustainability is part of our everyday life at Goanna Patch. Children take part in:
-
Recycling and reusing materials in creative and practical ways.
-
Gardening and caring for bush tucker, learning about growth, seasons and healthy food.
-
Nature play, where loose parts, sticks, rocks and leaves become resources for imagination and problem-solving.
-
Caring for water and energy, helping children understand how small choices make a big difference.
By weaving these experiences into play and learning, we empower children to think critically about their impact and grow into responsible caretakers of the environment.
